Or if you want to get the train to Lewes I can move the start time a bit if necessary.
Actually, I've just been hunting for a start time... I don't mind either way, TMN, and it might be nice to get in a few extra miles, especially if the weather is fine. It's a beautiful part of the country.

TMN: I would very much like to this via Burgess Hill. However D1 is due to sprog the week before which could scupper things so could you put me down as a maybe?

The only way I'm going to be able to do this is if I ride to Lewes (apart from the idiotic lack of an early enough train, there's engineering work between Littlehampton and Brighton anyway). The overnighter to Southsea is on the Friday night (hope some of you will be joining us). I'll have to be on the road by 5.30 at the latest, preferably earlier.
This doesn't make sense, does it?
Who cares

Going to get a train from East Croydon to Burgess Hill then cycle to Lewes, on to Bexhill, then cycle home with Ross and LongM if they are.

my current plan is to do the Southsea ride then get to Lewes on the Saturday and stay at Telscombe YHA and ride to the start of your ride, then get the train home from Hastings. This is all subject to change and family/work requirements etc etc.
