Shoe too tight or cleats not set up correctly. I used the get the same , and oddly enough in the left foot ( 50/50 chance?) cured by changing the cleat angle slightly

Maybe your shoe is too tight. I had a numb right foot with new shoes after a dozen miles or so. Loosened the lower straps and the problem went away.

Yes same here even paid for a fitting and found out my shoes were too narrow for my left foot which is wider than my right foot new shoes and presto done

Laces? What kind of shoes are you using? From your other post I see you are using traditional clips and straps, which may be the problem.

Think about a pair of entry-level road shoes with cleats and something like SPD pedals; dhb kit from Wiggle is good value, they do nice shoes. You can also get moulded insoles from Specialized Body Geometry with wedges to correct bad posture, these are very good indeed. You need to get the right footwear first though.

SPD pedals have gained almost universal acceptance amongst cyclists because they are so good and comfortable. If you do your research and look on Ebay I'm sure you could set yourself up with a set of low cost SPD pedals, cleats and shoes with the required recess in the sole for reasonable money. Here, for example: these ones still have the plastic shop platforms attached to them, which you would remove:

Pedals: http://www.ebay.co.u...0#ht_500wt_1156

Cleats: http://www.ebay.co.u...b5#ht_500wt_949

Shoes: http://www.ebay.co.u...d1#ht_500wt_949

That little exercise took me less than two minutes.
