Hi all,
...a long time ago I bought a 2nd hand DeRosa road bike off a friend.......recently tried to get it back on the road but noticed that the rear tyre was a bit worn so decided to buy a replacement....called in at Halfords as I happened to be passing...so got a Continental Gator skin...got home and all keen fitted new tyre...but noticed some faults in the tyre.....returned to Halfords and complained, and they gave me a replacement....started to fit the replacement and noted another fault....so visited another Halfords store and they advised it was a moulding fault....but they had none in stock so offered me my money back which I accepted.....so went to a local bike specialist as I was getting desperate to ride my "racer" (bike..not me).....I thought I would carefully check each tyre for the same fault so I went through 5 tyres...and they all showed the same "fault". By this time the sales guy comes over and says "can I help".....I explained that I had checked all their stock and it seemed to show the same fault...so assumed a faulty batch.....he explained " the small holes are not faults".....they are wear indicators and are supposed to be there...

......did I feel like a prize t1t....

I wondered a similar thing when I bought my gatorskins, took reading about it here to know the 2 little dimples are normal..

I made a similar mistake with the wear indicators on the rims too ... all part of the fun of learning. ;)

Wait until you have the "Should I shave my legs?" conversation with yourself ...

Frankly, I would restrict my cycling activities to riding around the garden until you can grow a beard for a disguise.
Thus avoiding everyone (who now knows how daft you are) pointing at you

I went in to buy an emergency tube and the staff were trying to fit a 700x23-25 conti race tube in a 29" Mtb tyre.
