Was the 110mm bb (that Spa Cycles spec for that chainset) a different size to the one originally on your bike.....and was the chainline etc. all ok after you fitted it?

Yea the 110 is for that chain set, though I would get either an ally or steel one, I dont like the plastic one I got, seems to be to much give. I have some noise on 1 and 7 on the front middle on the front mech, but I might have some damage to it as my chain snapped some time in early Sept (I think I hadn't put a pin in fully, when I was doing the mods, if it holds out I will get either Tigra or 105 triple when funds allow, I am looking to upgrade it to a 9sp) chain line seems fine on the middle to middle it looks straight enough, it just takes a bit of fettling to get right, when you do such a change (well it does me not being a bike mechanic), its not difficult the basics of bikes hasn't changed, just some of the kit.

UPDATE in the end i changed to an 11/32 cassette new chain and derailleur. cost just over £50 inc tools. its much more suitable for me and as a bonus, gearchange feels a lot smoother
