Hi,

My previous bike got pranged by a careless driver :-( and so I'm just starting to look for a replacement.

The previous was a TIME VX elite full carbon racing bike. I enjoyed riding it a lot - mostly for triathlons and long-distance (100+) day rides. I'm looking to spend £3000-£3500 in all this time round.

I'm very tall (6'6), which I find to be quite a limiting factor in the selection. Can anyone here help me out with some recommendations on what might be suitable?

Many thanks,

Miles

Go custom. Viner do custom sizing on most carbon models (for the 2012 model range, all bar the lowest carbon model), Comtat do custom as well (British brand but Italian-made frames). Both will have options within your budget for a complete bike. Viner Gladium with Athena build is about £2.3k, I have its predecessor, the Magnifica, and it's excellent. Current model isn't available made to measure, but the 2012 Gladium 2.0 will be (no extra charge). There are other options (Parlee, Crumpton, Guru, IF, to name but some) but they're all ££££. Colnago do custom fit on the C59, but that's £3.4k for the frame alone if you don't go down the grey import route...
