Hi,

My daughter is looking for a bicycle, having outgrown her Islabike (see the for sale section).

She likes the look of the classic "sit up and beg" bike like http://dawescycles.com/product/cambridge-mixte at 15.8kg and http://www.bobbinbikes.co.uk/bobbin-hummingbird/ at 14kg.

However, are there any light(ish) classic bikes with a hub gearing system like Sturmey Archer available ? I found this one http://www.bobbinbikes.co.uk/bobbin-madam/ but it doesn't seem to be available

Many thanks
Andrew

Pashley are pretty heavy.

Charge do one called the decanter which my mrs has. It's pretty decent, 3 speed sturmey archer hub. I think the mandoline is the 5 speed version of it .

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Isn't there a hub-geared Pendleton from Halfords? Failing that, Decathlon do a decent range of trad bikes. Or you can get one mail order from Germany or Holland, where they're usually called "Bikes" rather than "Hybrids".

Decathlon Elops range, 14yo daughter has the Elops5, still quite heavy but it rolls along nicely, 3 speed hub gear and dynamo front hub. Also rack, guards, lights as standard. It is a nice looking bike with a different understated cream and brown colour scheme. Solid comfortable cruiser at a decent price and well specced for the money.

how old/big is she? Edinburgh Bikes. Revolution Heritage Deluxe could fit the bill but is an adult range of bikes.

Ok, been to LBS, Evans, Halfords and planning a trip to Decathlon tomorrow, but the current favourite is

anyone have any experience of this bike? Or any observations about it - good or bad ?

Thanks
Andrew
