It happens, Life gets in the way of cycling sometimes. The motivation will return.

I'm having my worst year for cycling in a very long time: started brightly, then I got Covid, by the time I had recovered I was on holiday with few cycling opportunities (great holiday though) then I got back, started up again and...'flu!
Recovered from 'flu and now I have an IT band injury

shoot happens. We all bounce back eventually. :bicycle:

I can be a bit like that, not an issue if I'm up and at them, but procrastinate at all, and the notion soon wears off.

I get get some stuff done if I wake up and go right to it, but if I don't start immediately, "in a little bit" stretches into "maybe tomorrow."

My main problem isn't lack of time or not having anything to do, it's lack of motivation for actually doing it.

That sounds exactly like me, the thing is if I force myself to start something that I thought I couldn't be bothered with I'm OK, and I'll keep going.
It's the same with going out on the bike sometimes, I feel like I just can't be ars#d, but if I make myself get ready then once I'm out it's OK. I find it much easier if I have a ride planned properly in advance.
There's an old saying about training when the weather was bad and you couldn't be bothered ~ 'the hardest part is from bed to shed'. Very true.

I occasionally lack mojo.

For me keeping things simple helps a lot. No special clothing, no fixed plan and no fixed times keeps the 'bed to shed' very simple.
"Jump on and go" sounds good for utility rides in fair weather.
But for anything more than light effort i find proper cycling gear is more comfy/approriate/waterproof/etc.

I'm increasingly finding that riding with others is the best motivation, and starting elsewhere THAN home to add some interest.

I've jacked he motivation and energy to do bigger tides tbh.

Divorce hasn't helped.

Using bike more for commuting and had some nice rides with a few Freinds which has definitely helped!👍

Even simple things like fearing breaking down or falling off and wondering who would help you, strikes fear into me despite never needing assistance in the past 20yrs!
