Not even fully implemented, yet, but it's likely to be scrapped.

"A Conservative-run council has been accused of favouring the convenience of car drivers over the wellbeing of local people by scrapping a popular cycle lane after opposition from 0.2% of the borough’s population. "

" Cyclist numbers have more than doubled since the introduction of the lane, to about 3,000 daily along the busy A-road, a key route into central London for people coming from the west. Transport for London said it had no discernible effect on traffic congestion. "

" Kensington and Chelsea has also claimed the cycle lane increased congestion. However, over the period of its operation the area had several sets of unconnected roadworks, including for a burst water main. The council spokeswoman did not explain how it was known the cycle was to blame for congestion, rather than the roadworks."

Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
Face it we are up against the might of the car industry - it's always going to be a tough fight. This is the lobby that got speed cameras (which actually caught people breaking the law) turned off - not much hope for cycle lanes then.
There's always hope but we do need asymmetric tactics.

...and legions of inherently lazy people, who want to carry on being lazy and sod the consequences.

The problem will never, ever, be solved while those responsible for implementing solutions are also beholden to an electorate dominated by a bone idle lazy car driving majority. The solution needs to be very firmly and irretrievably separated from any aspect of electoral and party politics if is ever to succeed.

Or newspaper editors - who don't even live in the UK - and have links to businesses that just want lorries to drive anywhere at any speed.

They treat the UK as a sweat shop. Any expenditure on infrastructure is a waste for them.

Not sure how you'd manage that drago.
you planning some sort of coup?

Kensington and Chelsea is of course a pretty appalling council.

As recent tragic events highlighted.
