I'm well pleased with this. It's a John do, reynolds 531 frame. Have a full set of shimano 105 golden arrow to put on it, but not sure what stem and bars to put on. Have a nice Cinelli stem and bars but was keeping these for something special.

Not sure if the pictures show it but it's got a silver speckle to give a glitter/pearlescent effect.

Also undecided whether to give it a gold lug lining and line inside the hearts.

Who did it? I'm thinking of getting my ratbike powder coated by Armourtex (they're down my way), but any other suppliers would be useful.

Place called Bettablast in Newcastle. I'd heard good things and they will do 1, 2 or 3 stage coating. This was a 2 stage coating. Did think about a zinc undercoat as well but couldn't stretch that far monetary wise.

Thats very nice. I live in Newcastle too. Just repainted an old frame with aerosols. Never again!! The inside of my garage is now luminous green from my first attempt with Plasti kote. That didn't work out so I started again and used 2 cans of Hammerite smooth yellow. Bike looks ok. However, despite taking care, spray mist has settled on everything, the front door, window sills, garage door, rear end of my car that was parked a good 25 feet away. It has taken me more time to clean everything up than it did to spray the frame. Powder coating next time for sure.

That frame looks very similar to mine which I am waiting to come back from the spray shop, although it is going to be royal blue. I have already bought the paint pens to line the lugs (white) and know what - all the gear which came off the bike and has polished up a treat is Arabesque Gold Arrow. I have got off ebay a Brooks N17 and another rubbish seat for a £1which has a good badge on it. What have you sorted for wheels ?
In Pearsons ,Sutton they had a bike fully sorted and the frame was a pearlescent white , looked fantastic as yours will . Their build though had leant to a more modern look on the wheel rims , I am going traditional.
Keep the pics coming please :cycle:

@Windassisted do you know what your frame/bike is?

I have an original set of wheels with the golden arrow quick release hubs. Didn't see a name on the rims but they look very 80s weinmann.

I'm undecided what seat and cable colour to use. Might have to get some pictures with all the different combinations and do a poll lol

@Tony Raynor. My wheels were grey anodised Mavic for tubs and like I do not, so they have to go . Its a Pearson and have not found any date codes but I think all the gear points to 1984/5. My forks are very different, more square shouldered than yours but the frame lugs and braze on's have a look from the same era

I recall reading somewhere on this site that some of the Pearson frames were contracted out to specialist builders in the midlands , Dave Yates was mentioned.
