Yep, we (here in the mildest corner of Canada) got our bit 'o winter. More snow overnight and, though temperatures have moderated from the early week lows of -18C w/ windchill, we're still sitting a couple degrees below zero.

Still, with the right bike you're OK. I pulled out my trusty and appropriately-named Rocky Mountain "Blizzard."

Good man.

Never tried that stretch-is it suitable for a road bike or is it more of a MTB path?

I've a claude butler chinook, so from previous posts this bike is somewhere in the hybrid/road/flatbar section of the argument. The path was magic, smoother than the roads round here. But it is a path, say about 5 foot wide.

You got spiky tyres on that Randochap?

Actually, Crackle, no. The snow usually doesn't last long enough around here to make it worthwhile to invest in expensive studs. However, we're promised another dump of white stuff tonight. Just 100km north of here they're digging out of several feet.

If this keeps up for much longer, I'm going to have to bite the bullet and shell out the big bucks ... or buy a bag of machine screws!
