I've been thinking about joining a club but I don't yet have a road bike and I know that I won't be able to keep up with the "real" cyclists.
Am I being a wimp?
There have been quite a lot of threads similar to this one. Most clubs have a email contact address drop em a line be honest and you ll get a good idea if it will suit you or not. ( With my club official hat on )
Some clubs have beginner sessions which are full of advice on equipment, cycling tips but get in touch with the club. most are welcoming and understand that you are a beginner
