50 hours is very very fast for an End to End. It is faster than all the LeJoG official records except the "men single"

Ben Rockett's new End to End and back again record was a remarkable feat of riding

I don't doubt that you are a better athlete than me (haha most people are) but I don't see from your website that you have ridden 200 miles+ last year

So I have to doubt that you really understand what you are undertaking. Greenback and me both did multiple 200 mile+ events last year. You will note that Greenback is thinking of doing the same distance in 100 hours+

Personally I think that the best case time for me over that sort of distance would be 75 hours.

Just my 2penny worth, take a sharp right at Tain and follow NCN 1 parallel to the A9 through to Dingwall. It looks like it is slightly shorter, it is a nice road, it is waymarked so navigation isn't a problem, it takes you away from traffic and potential conflict. Finally, even if there was no advantage to you, there would be advantages to other road users on that stretch of road (ooh, controversial)!

Is it not better to do LEJOG rather than JOGLE as the wind is more likely to be in your favour?

Possibly however the wind is not guaranteed to always be with you. The climbs may be more severe the other way..

Wow!!!

Can't even imagine such a challenge. Was pretty inspired during the early postings thinking this would be great to build up to, but reading your last post - think I'm going to go back to bed for a rest.

Goog luck

just checked Richard's tweets and he's done it in 78hrs which is good effort! he raised well over a grand for a charity which is even better.

only why all this talk about 50-60hrs in the beginning?..

But I thought since Land's End is on a cliff, whilst John O'Groats is at sea level then a LEJOG involves a net-loss of attitude and is therefore on average downhill?
