I am feeling the cold all of a sudden(must be my age) . My £20 "windproof" decathlon jacket isn't keeping me warm at all.

Any recs on a decent warm jacket for temperatures of 8C and below ??

I just stick another layer on underneath. This morning it was my £14 Decathlon windproof and long-sleeved Decathlon running shirt, and it was warm enough after the first few minutes. Any colder and I stick a tight base layer underneath and find that's enough to get me through the winter.

Or you could just try pedalling faster

Haha yeah but I am really feeling the weather this year !

Jacket sounds a better option that anything else. I did have 2 layers on underneath. Might have to go 3

Base layer under the jacket and then a showerproof jacket on top - I have an Endura Rebound showerproof jacket and it offers good warmth and breathability.

Mind you it was minus 6 with me this morning so I'd have been wearing a bit more had I been on my bike

I think I am at least a 44" !

My earlier reply re using a showerproof jacket does work. It can also be removed and easily packed if the temperature rises.

Sorry if I'm hijacking your thread, but has anyone tried the Endura FS260 Pro Slipstream jersey/jacket?

It looks like a good combo of jersey and windproof jacket without the flappy/sweaty jacket.

I've been wearing this Thor Jacket on my commute to work, it looks OK off the bike as well. Not sure it's quite what you've been looking for, but its been keeping me warm on the cold mornings the last week or so. I chuck a fleece on under it as well which seems really warm once I'm upto speed.
