I'm always late to the party, I'm so last whatever. I feel rubbish, I thought it a combo of flu and sinusitis but was at a complete loss as to exactly what it was or where I'd picked it up. As we had a test kit (6 months out of date but thought I'd try it out anyway) I decided to use it.

As to where I picked it up, the only place I can figure is the medical centre! I had a blood test done there.

I'll do another test obviously, with an indate kit this time.

I've been banished to the spare room

If you have been vaccinated, it is unlikely to affect you much more than a severe cold, unless you are in one of the particularly vulnerable groups.

I've had it at least twice, maybe three times, and so has my wife. They aren't even recommending we bother testing nowadays unless you fall into one of the vulnerable groups. Though they aren't telling us not to either.

Vacinated, yes, but years back and haven't the strains evolved? Dunno in truth, back in the day I was more clued up but this has come out of the left field! I'd pretty much consigned the whole era to the past, even though I knew it still cropped up every now and again.

Either way, this is way worse than a cold, even a bad one. As I said, it's kinda the mix of symptoms that had me flumoxed. Not for a moment did I think of Covid.

I've come down with something in the last 38 hours, not done any tests yet, while it could simply be a head cold the symptom order since Tuesday evening reminds me of my September '22 covid that gave me ongoing long covid.

Last jab was December '21, jabs as standard for those aged 50+ were ditched just before I reached the miestone in late '23.

Sod's law that my new ebike arrived just when I have my first lurgy for months.

Good luck!

My boss had similar and said that all the food she ate tasted funny. She hasn't had tea or coffee all week as it tasted like burning rubber. She thinks it was probably covid. Weird how it's sort of an afterthought now, but it's obviously still around
