Well its official, I am a middle aged man in Lycra!!!!

My first pair of 'tights' arrived today so I tried them on and went out in public for the first time. They were nice and warm and kept the wind off but I probably looked a right twonk.

Anyone else feel silly wearing them?

You will find that you are considered less of a "twonk" if you are riding a bike at the time!!

Only in the supermarket when a little girl asked hey mummy “why is that man dressed like a ballerina”

Or you answer the door to the neighbours daughter in tights after training on the rollers she looked me up and down as if I had step off the moon ...
You are now officially a "mamil"

It doesn't matter what shape you, or anyone else is, @Undy. We all look like twonks in Lycra!

Wouldn't wear anything else on my bike now mind you. You soon won't either.

 i guess a few of us have been there and done that, i used to wear my padded lycra under mtb shorts because i thought i looked a "twonk" but once you get the rest of the gear on and get out on your bike you will see and feel the benefits of wearing the right gear.

I notice that there is no mention of cycling or bikes in your post...curious. ;)

Yes, we look stupid. But if I cared what I looked like I wouldnt be such a fat plonker in the first place.
