I got one for a tenner from the Gloucester bike project in 2015. Original condition but with bent forks: looked as if it had been on one dry ride in 1984, straight into a wall. I had some 20" wheels (BMX sized as fitted to US Twenties) and some new chrome BMX forks were £13 from eBay. These forks enabled a front V brake, too, because the normal braking is hopeless.
Its got a twist grip changer and its doing my turnip. If i adjust the toggle to get 3rd gear it wont select 1st. If i adjust it to get third without being neutral it wont twist round to 1st. Bloody thing.
As I recall, those early Raleigh twistgrip gear shifters - emulating motor cycle throttle grips, thus appealing to us youngsters - were a right pain in the butt to get right AND keep right - !
