Snow and ice in Essex (surprisingly) so I dusted off my Hi-Tec Mauna Kea 50 Peaks boots and walked. Don't take the car, says I to wife, just walk the kids to school. She took the car and got stuck.
forget snow. Sun has melted the top layer of it- it's now re-frozen in the shade and i've got to traverse 300 yards of sheet ice to get to the main road.
What should I put on my boots so that at approx 11pm tonight I can climb the steep hill up to my house? If it was snow, it would be OK in my winter walking boots, but ice?
