Very funny but I guess the joke was wearing a bit thin for poor Lionel and it was the correct decision to ditch them.

Going back quite a few more years the Julian and Sandie sketches with Hugh Paddick and Kenneth Williams on Around the Horn were just as risqué. Horn claimed they got away with with it because the BBC bosses at the time were so stuffy the jokes went over their heads. Remember this was a time when homosexually was still illegal in the UK.

The Samantha and Sven jokes are the same, just without a real life butt of the joke.

I did think it was a bit off that Humphry Lyttleton made those jokes about Lionel Blair without his permission. I am surprised the BBC let him do it. I think Lionel Blair might have been alright with it if he'd got the odd bottle of whisky out of it. I thought what he said about Humph was rather unpleasant though.
