There's a tiny hole and a bit of tyre thread sticking out. I did fix it and go for a ride. About a mile went again, right next to patch. Pitch dark, no tools, walk home!!
Stick a patch onto the inside of the tyre as well then inflate, if there's no bulge then it'll be ok on the rear, wouldn't fancy trusting it on the front.
Yes anything can be repaired , some things more successfully than others but it boils down to the fact that there is under a square inch of rubber between you and the road surface , It looks like it has had its day , time to find a new one........
