I use schwalbe marathons and have also tried marathon pluses. They do have a little more rolling resistance and not quite as nice a feel as a more supple tyre (I'm comparing them to the panaracer paselas I use on my road bike), but on the other hand I probably average around 2,500 miles between punctures which seems like a fair trade, and they do last for ages.

Bin them and do it NOW! I have suffered at the hands of those very same tyres and it was miserable. The puncture resistance is a joke, how they can even remotely justify claiming puncture protection is beyond me. They came as factory fit on my £2k bike and from day one suffered punctures approx every 100 miles. They now hang in my bike store, mostly unworn but unusable due to the puncture frequency. I have replaced them with Vittoria Randoneur pro's which are proving to be just as quick but far, far more robust.

Rollingresistance.com offers tyre reviews based on testing which I have found useful.
Each individual will weight the various factors differently: rolling resistance, durability, puncture 'protection' (both tread and side wall), longevity, colour (!), width availability.

There's another option.

Got 2 Gatorskins with about 500 miles on them. They are 28s though.

So, could put one on then have a 25 and 28, or could put both on?
