What pedals are on the new sirrus. I quite like the ones and straps that came with my old 2006 sirrus. They didn't like me sometimes though, the titanium/ shin combo doesn't agree; I changed for clipless and haven't looked back.

The pedals it came with are just basic plastic platforms with toe straps that I can't get my feet into! Cycled today just using the flat side, may nip out at lunch time and remove the straps until I can someting half decent fitted.

They do seem to have downgraded things a bit (understatement) from 2006 but I think the bike is still circa the 2006 price. The frame is great though and the big upgrade on the newer models are carbon forks (mine are alu) enjoy :-)

From what I understand of the OP the stickers are on what would normaly be the braking surface. As I'm not familliar with this bike does it have disk brakes?

there not on the braking surface so not a problem and the sirrus does not have disks.... have decided to keep the stickers on for th time being, cheers

Just taken all the removable stickers off the frame of my new Secteur! Why do they have to put on so many? I don't need to know that it's "Hand built in Taiwan", or that it "Conforms to BS1234", also "Register your bike at........", and 2 different stickers with the serial number and model code . All removed now, and the sticky residue comes off a treat with a cloth soaked with WD40.

The sun's out and I've got a day off, so all set for the maiden voyage......

You might not need to know this but you may well find that there are regulations require that kind on information to be displayed on the bike at the time of purchase. (I've not checked this out but just a thought)

I used to think, its never a stupid question if that person doesn't know the answer, but really!

Not a fan of all the branding stickers on most modern bikes – loved my Globe Roll for barely coming with any – took all the removable ones off. Took the wheel stickers off my Cannondale CAADX, if they weren't lacquered I'd be rid of the 'Cannondales' too. Not a fan of team jerseys for the same reason either.

Why do so many frames have the manufacturers name on both the down tube and the seat tube?
Think BMC are one of the few who make it all look nice.

Saw a young chap in Evans at the weekend who appeared to have ADDED a ton of stickers to his bike, in an almost fixie sticker coverage level of nonsense, but with cycling brand names, especially Continental. Continental stickers everywhere. Is Continental derserving of fandom?

I quite fancied some Continental leg warmers – but then thought "nah!"

I'd agree with that G, it sounds perfectly plausible. Like bells, ever wondered why your adult bike came with a bell fitted? I was told by an LBS they have to fit a bell to all new bikes prior to collection by law, but yet it's perfectly legal to get home and put the bell in the bin if you want to - go figure!
