Hey! That's an original Trout Pout, that is.
No, I can't see that through her shorts.

Even after this long period of production, I still think this is the best looking bike on the market. The look, attention to details and build quality. Ah yes, its Italian!

I have to agree there are not any bikes I've seen that look better than that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That Guzzi is sweet. I agree with Panter too about the 916 (I like the 748 as well) and old 'blades.

But PapaZita reminded me of something, there's a Solex event in a nearby town this weekend.... and I hadn't got a clue what a Solex was!!

Well, those of you that know about Italian bikes will also know that the guy who styled the 916 also styles the MV Agusta F4 1000. Massimo Tamburini is a bit of a god in the Italain bike industry. In fact, If Tambo didn't leave Ducati to join MV Agusta then the F4 would of been the follow on bike from the 916. Unfortunately, I think Ducati has lost its styling gift. Whilst the 999 and 1098 are nice machines, they are not styling icons!

It can be an age thing, I am 46 and I think it is "blah", but then I think all faired bikes look "blah". I was skipping through "Bike" magazine a week or so ago in the supermarket and there was an article with pictures, a line up of "New for 2009" sports bikes. Apart from the colours, every manufacturers bike looked the same design to me. Funnily enough they all looked like the "New for 2008" bikes or even "2007" bikes too!

Things are getting bad, design wise, when the aesthetics of the exhausts becomes a main selling point.

I now have 2 bikes (and a '63 Vespa) a super cool Honda Dominator and a Yam XJR1200, I can see the engines quite clearly, I need to, to be interested in them.

Agreed. Mind you the 916/748 was always going to be a tough act to follow and they failed dismally IMO

How much does it cost to Oldham?
Here's a picture of our kid on his methanol-burning RSN engined featherbed framed cafe racer. it's the mutt's nuts and it makes the windows rattle in the streets. He uses it for hill climb races, which, even on his nutty machine, is more sensible than bicycle hill climb races.

I saw a Britten in the Museum of somethingorother in Wellington, NZ. A very impressive looking machine (though it doesn't win style awards for me), the story behind it is way more impressive than its looks.

Edit: not keen on the 'modern look'... street fighter inspired perhaps; all cut down and stuby, very popular over here in France. The Kwak Z750 is the best selling bike here. Personally, I'd have an FRJ1300 if I'd got cash to throw away.
