Yea turbo could have weakened it.
That would be my bet, bit too tight for a bit too long.

Look at it this way, with a new frame it'll be a new bike. You can add a few updates like 10/11speed as well. 😊

Get a steel frame and you'll never have this problem again .

Omg thanks guys. Kind of confirmed my worst fears as soon as I saw part of the frame had come off.

I don't understand how it has happened? My little clip less moment shouldn't have caused it to weaken so much as I say I fell left not right. I'm wondering.. I had it on a turbo for a year or two, could that have caused that area to weaken? Was it just a terrible gear change that did it??
What probably happened is that the derailleur went into the spokes.
There's often not a lot of clearance, and a slightly bent hanger, a mis-adjusted bottom gear stop, or frame flex when out of the saddle, can reduce not a lot to none for long enough for the mech to snag a spoke.

The same thing happened to my Kaffenbach except the break was nearer the drop out as it didn’t have a breakaway hanger on it, it was a forged single piece and I’m afraid to say that even if I had got it welded there was no guarantees the weld would have held long term with the pressure from the quick release cams. I get your jist but it’s not 100% gospel that steel lives on!

I was well gutted as I didn’t get 10years like the OP, just 18 months when it happened! It was a fabulous tea and coffee colour with lovely brown bar tape on the drops, got loads of comments from people telling me it was well smart! It wasn’t a warranty issue as I hit a massive pothole coming off a junction and the wheel caught the seatstay and jammed the wheel in place as the quick release moved from the jolt and ripped the hanger. It was a total freak accident and my fault for not doing the quick release up properly after a puncture the week before.

No, basso devil xenon.

Thanks . I've got an aluminium /Carbon Basso Reef. Bought it as I thought the frame was really well made with fab joints. And it had a straight top tube .

When I bought my Reef I think I looked at a Devil, Astra, Laguna but liked the look of the Reef as it reminded me of the shape of my old bikes  maybe out of courtesy a Basso dealer might be able to offer a discounted frame?
