Too many red flags.

Do more rides on the borrowed trek and get a proper feel. You would be in a better position to decide. No urgency I think.

I do really like that bike. However I am struggling to focus on anything other than the M colours on that 7 Series. It is wrong on so many levels.

If you were looking for a dedicated TT bike and he hadn't have stripped off the cockpit and replaced it with road bars, I would say go for it. But a TT bike (even with road bars) will not be comfortable to ride. The geometry is all wrong. Pass on this one, and wait for the right bike to come along.
