I did 73k on the roads this morning, which according to my Garmin included 757m elevation gain, which I assume means I climbed 757 metres of hills. Is that a lot? It certainly felt like it as I only averaged on 22kph. The strong wind didn't help either.

We're all different, I have a rule of thumb that if a planned ride has a ratio of 1000 feet climbed (or more) per 10 miles of distance, then it's going to be very tough.

I did 60 km this morning with 588m climbing, which is also a big fat ZERO,,

Solihull to Wednesbury IKEA, over Barr Beacon.

Apple and cinamon muffin with three cups of coffee ( as much as you can drink ) for £1.25.

Bargain...

If it felt hard then it was! Rides from my house (very hilly here) average 100 feet up per mile forward in all directions. I find that pretty hard going at times but the more you do it the easier it gets.
My flat average is 20mph but nearer home that halves. Steep buggers them Pennines

The mind boggles why anyone would ride to Ikea of their own volition Jimbo, even for the coffee.
