Is there a way to lessen the impact of the bike to the lower back?

Sell the bike and get either an upright hybrid or a full suspension mtb.
Or, just give it a thousand Kms before any drastic changes. It doesn't take long to adapt.

Totally.

There is nowt wrong with adapting bikes as you wear out parts but trying to change the DNA of a bike seems like a waste of the OP s time and cash.

I would either stick with it or get a bike that was designed and creates to fit my riding needs.

The great news is that the Scott will, one way or another help the OP to figure out what those needs are

I have read other threads here, one was particularly interesting. The OP has a Dawes Mohave, and asks if it was suitable for London-Paris. The consensus seems to be "whatever is comfortable for you". I'm not going to participate to London-Paris or anything, I'm just trying to find the most comfortable setting for what I have now. I don't get it when you say biking is not supposed to be comfortable. Why should these amateurs riding 100km a day on a road bike accept an uncomfortable ride, or not use the saddle for its original purpose? Why is it acceptable to sit comfortably on a touring bike, but a crime against nature when I try to make my bike a tiny little wee more comfortable?

Anyways, according to the posts in here, tyre comfort begins at 32mm, no input for the wheels, an expensive seatpost with a scary name by two posters. I'll post after I make a ride with the new saddle.

Here for rides.
padded shorts, padded mitts, a Brooks (sprung) saddle, or a Spesh one mounted on elastomers, gel under your bar tape, a proper bike fit session and, well, er, getting used to it.

Sorry but cycling a road race / sportive bike on UK roads can be uncomfortable. Especially if you aren't used to it.

I used to get lots of pain when I first got my new road bike. I set the saddle properly and it got better in time. Make sure the saddle/stem are adjusted properly or go for a bike fitting thing.
