Is there a shim to convert a 31.8mm front mech clamp for use on a 28.6mm tube?

Before I start stripping one frame of all it's lovely, if a bit old 105 gear and putting it on my lovely, if even older 531 frame I want to know I don't have to go and find a new front mech for the sake of a measly 1.2millimeters.

That's the right one isn't it? They usually cover between 28.6 and 31.8. The next size clamp is 35mm.

Can't the pros afford the correct size clamp though? Hang on, you mean professional mechanics not professional riders don't you. I just had images of pro riders with bikes held together with soft drink cans.

Guess you're right Colin, but I've successfully used inner tubes as makeshift shims albeit, not for dérailleur clamp.

I'll put a picture up but if it's the right thing, cover the postage and it's yours.

I'm 24 so I may be being dumb but.
28.6 millimetres = 1.12598425 inches
31.8 millimetres = 1.2519685 inches
34.9 millimetres = 1.37401575 inches
Makes even less sense...

34.9= 1" 3/8
The sizes will be rounded up in metric, so 28.6 will actually be 28.575mm etc
