The Triban doesn't have anywhere close to the same spec however. Spec for spec (components) compared to a comparable Specialized for example, the Whyte likely offers better vfmLove the looks of Whyte bikes.
However your question is a fairly open-ended one...you say VFM, which I'd associate more with a Btwin Triban flat bar..
From an aesthetic viewpoint I prefer the Whyte to these and it has carbon forks.I guess all you can do is test ride a few alternatives. Evans do no quibble test rides on anything they have in stock
I looked at Ridgebacks in the past as an alternative to Whyte

Could try this out too

Maybe I worded it wrong- as Vickster says, what I meant was is there a better spec, better looking bike for the same price as the Whyte.Love the looks of Whyte bikes.

I was thinking of doing it through cycle to work scheme. One shop said they would add 10% to the price, never mind a discount!Stick with the Whyte, try to negotiate a few quid off
It's over the limit no?I was thinking of doing it through cycle to work scheme. One shop said they would add 10% to the price, never mind a discount!
It is now, but presume I could pay £99 in cash. It was £999 last year and they said 10% would be added to cover their admin costs- not sure if they all do that. Would shop around. It's over the limit no?
