Is the Carrera Intercity Disc 9 a significantly better ride than the Disc 8?

Blimey - that's a bargain!

yes ,i did see that ,and i was that way on sunday ,
we popped into a cycle shop in conningsby today and had a sit on a wisper 806 bike as was blown away how good the bike was ,just need to take it for a test ride in the next few days when they have get the demo all set up ,so i might just be having the disc8 and my wife goes hybrid ,we will see and if the wisper is any good i might have one aswell ))))))

That’s a good candidate for modifications, easy to replace the groupset with something more exotic as it’s all off a proper full sized bike.
what item would you fit ?just curious .i have a disc8 and would like to do some upgrades

The V brake Intercity is a different machine entirely, but for all that is a good value and well equipped bike, if somewhat less flighty in ride and character.

What does "flighty in ride" mean? Is that supposed to be negative ie twitchy or positive somehow?

I am considering a cheap used folder like the Carrera Intercity. I see the frames of the V brake and disc versions are completely different... Do they ride the same? Also I note the handlebars swing down but not in between the front and rear halves when folded - they stick out... I want a folder that can be wheeled along while holding the saddle or similar. Can you wheel either frame type model along?

Never tried, but I suspect not.

Mine weighs in a touch under 12kg and I have no trouble humping it about on the train etc, but my avatar picture gives you an idea of my size.
