I am wondering if my weight is normal for someone of my age? I am 17 and weigh 8 stone 7, and that has not changed for 1/2 years now.

I have increased the amount of cycling I am doing but that has made no difference.

I am eating normally but i have always been fed a very healthy and varied diet, e.g. Last night I had a combination of chicken, pasta, spinach, and Phily. The night before I had a Chicken steak with salad. The night before I had sausages and beans (had to rush my food to go out with the club). And on Monday night I had Pep Pizza.

I can eat large amounts over christmas and only put on 2/3 pounds so was wondering if this was normal?

How tall are you ?

For some people its underweight (depending on your height but I wouldn't bother too much. Increasing cycling will only make it harder to put on excess pounds but thats not a bad thing IMO. If you are burning off a lot of calories (e.g hard cycling) its perfectly normal to be able to eat more over Christmas without putting on to much weight. btw I'm 5 foot 9 inch and weigh around 9stone 8-10lbs, iirc I was about 10.5-11.5 stone when I was your age and not cycling regularly.

Edit: my mate is about 5foot 6 and he wins quite a lot and he is 41years and 9stone, I don't think his weight has changed much in 25 years ;)

 Maybe thats why I keep telling my parents I dont want to (That and she would want to have a traditional wedding when I would just want to go to a marraige office and sign a paper).

Some years ago, a friend of mine went to the doctor because he was concerned that his weight, which had been the same for years, might be too low. The rather portly doctor said: "Can you run for a bus?", to which he answered "yes"; the doctor said "well I can't - get out".
