I think that MSN thing is ok in SMALL doses, however too many kids live on it and actually believe it's better than getting out in the real world with your mates. I have seen my nephew spend his entire teenage life on it, almost every waking hour outside of school. He is an MSN addict and I mean ADDICT. Such a waste of his youth it's so sad.

Call it what you will it's still just sitting on your arse in front of a moniter screen.

Almost certainly banned by now, along with hoppo-bumpo and brandy with a wet tennis ball, all overseen by a benign master who would only halt the game when one boy, with blood streaming (these games should be played on gravel) became quite hysterical.

Character building so that when the hysterical tormented boy many years later is elevated to the bench and is confronted by one of his tormentors can exercise his impartialiaty - or not.

I think it is generally a good thing as language is not a static thing it is continually evolving. It is sad when these things are taken in by those who don't understand them though. It can lead to such anomalies as the aunty of the poor girl whose cat had sadly been killed who subsequently sent a text message saying "sorry your cat died, lol", believing lol to mean lots of love.

There's a difference between evolution and nihilistic mutilation.

es msn does provoke the use of chat speak and I am living proof that it is very hard to get out of your system. I am trying though and hopefully it is working.
