Is anyone doing the Pedal for Scotland on Sept 12?

Not for me. Last years transport 'issues' all but ruined what coulld have been a great day.

Considered the 100miler but the route is not very inspiring.

Enjoy the day, I am sure you will have a great time.

I've signed up, with transport back from Edinburgh.

Plan to use my tourer rather than road bike as it seems to me a leisurely cycle?

What time are you guys gonig to be at Corrieri's? You can't miss me, I am the one in dayglo and lycra, not an entirely good look ha ha!

hmmm ... we'll be leaving Stirling at 10:30, and covering 45 miles, with another tea/cake stop before Corrieri's ... with the stop thrown in, I'd guess arround 3pm (?) ... and we'd be at Corrieri's for a little while chatting away ...

HJ is probably right, it's easier for you to recognise us (and possibly less embarrassing  than us asking random dayglo cyclists if they are "Scotmitchy" )

It would be nice to meet you, and you could sign the famous northern CC relay jersey (2 threads "pinned" at the top of the Cafe section, one for the journal, one for hand over discussions)

I will be there, on my first go at PFS (50 mile version, that's plenty for me!). Will probably be doing it with my brother, who is a veteran having done it for a few years now, including a couple of years ago when it rained from start to finish....

I am looking forward to it and don't think the distance should be much of a problem, UNLESS sods law strikes and the prevailing westerly wind decides to do an about turn on the day; and/or monsoon rains .

that is what puts me off more than the hills ... if the weather was that bad it would be no fun at all.

after much debate I have decided not to do it this year ... all it would take would be adverse weather and me, and more importantly, junior would be miserable.

We need to build up our hardy exteriors a little first.

I was planning to park anywhere in the city centre, shouldn't be too hard to get a space on a Sunday morning? Then ride to GG.

Me too.

I cannot get a train which gets into Glasgow early enough so I'll need to drive. I think on-street parking is free on Sundays (can anyone confirm?). If not I might leave it a wee bit further out and cycle in to warm up.
