Never a big fan of Sunday afternoon drinking, but in the early 70's two for the boys (strippers) and a comedian were very popular in the working men's clubs round here.
Cold Yorkshire's with jam,
I think it was more a 1970s and 1980s thing, the Sunday lunchtime drink.
Nowadays there's more drinking at home, if people drink because drinks in pubs can be very expensive especially if you are a heavy drinker.
I also think Sunday Roast dinners have gone out as well.
The late 1970's and 80's favourite pub grub meal!!(brings back fond memories of scampi or chicken and chips in a basket etc)
Agreed, @Cycleops, I like this version of dance me…Despite my comment I think he's just brilliant, and as a poet far surpasses Dylan.
That first track 'Everybody knows' is one of his greatest. 'Dance me to the end of Love' is another fab song and very moving.
