And those little things sticking out from the side are called buggerlugs.

I remember a comic in the 70's had a sketch about B.U.G.G.E.R, Best Universal Grit Grime and Effluent Remover, went with the catch phrase , If Daz wont brighten it and OMO wont Whiten it , Bugger it.
