The obvious one is the Gall Peters, which looks to correct the inherent northern bias of the traditional Mercator map, in which "South America is made to look about the same size as Europe, when in fact it is almost twice as large, and Greenland looks roughly the size of Africa when it is actually about 14 times smaller. In this version, land maps are shown 'at their true size' - tho' how that tallies with the OP's Africa map I'm not at all sure.
And of course there's also the upside-down map:
North is only 'at the top' because we've decided that's how we'd like to see it.
