Possibly 26 letters in (uk) alphabet and per country by code? Needs investigation!

Well, 36 if it could be 0-9 but there must be more than 36 in the U.K. with all the independents.

well no - it was years ago when I was an IT person and sorting out a printer
(which wasn;t my job but I tended to get involved in sorting out other people's problems far too often!)
