I've looked at some hope brakes. Are they any good?
Never used hope, but they have a good reputation

According to sram the biggest rotor they recommend for your fork is 160mm. I wouldn't fit a bigger rotor on skinny 28mm stanchions.

Better than shimano IMHO, but you'll pay more for 'em.

That's the magic word. You'll find instant huge improvement with any of the new disc brake type.
I swapped my Tektra by the now oldish Avid7 and the difference is huge - they are worlds apart.

Just a quick update guys.......
I brought some Hope Tech 3 E4 brakes and installed them today. They work a treat. I stuck with the 160mm suggested (tbf as previously said that the max my forks could take) and I'm very happy. Thanks for all the advice
