Here in Belgium I cycle along the water canals and rivers, lately there are swarms if tiny flies I keep running into as well as fluff things from the trees. Really annoying having to ride with my hand in front of my mouth needing to breath while keeping them out. Nothing larger yet though, I'm not looking forward to the large bee and such. I don't wear a helmet so they'll just bounce off anyhow.

Not quite my helmet, but...
Just went to pick the TeenOne up, road works about 100yrds from my house & the lights on red. I sat there singing along to the radio, lights change to green, as I let the handbrake off & pull away I looked into my mirror..Bloody great big wasp buzzing round the back window Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
I had to drive about 1/2 mile before I could stop & open my boot, I spent most of the 1/2 mile watching the wasp & not the road - I then had to stand with the boot open doing flappy things at the damn buzzy beast to get it to fly off - I think I need therapy!!

I always wear a cotton cap under my helmet.

Didn't stop a wasp flying into my gaping gob as I was climbing up a particularly nasty climb a couple of years ago. Luckily I spat it out just as it was launching its sting.

When I arrived home yesterday, I heard a buzzing sound from somewhere above me, I soon realised it was coming from my helmet, a wasp had got itself trapped and was not very happy.

Had a few major bee strikes this morning and some extra protein from insects I couldn't avoid swallowing.
I may start painting bees on my helmet rather like a war time pilot. I wonder how many it takes to become an ace?
Downside was scrubbing insect blood and guts off my face and arms!
