Problem solved. Went into my local bike shop and it seems that I have pinched the tube very slightly when using levers to get the last couple of inches of the tyre back on the rim. Fella also said that levers should never be used to refit tyre. Anyone else aware of this?

Those guys must have incredibly strong thumbs/ fingers, to get the tyre on the rim without levers !

I struggle to get the last two inches or so of the tyre back on by hand, so use steel levers just to lift it into place. However the guy reckoned that this was what was causing my problems. He did actually show me how to refit the tyre by hand although he admitted that there is a definite art to it!

I use plastic levers and have always refitted the tyre by hand. I believe some tyres are harder then others to fit by hand, I use Conti GP 4000 which is not too difficult, but not easy, you have to use a bit of force.

Use both thumbs, it will go, eventually.
