There are some real tossers around, i hope the bm driver gets what he deservs.
Im not talking about a fine either.....

If they can prove the offence against him, he'd be very, very unlikely to just get a fine for causing a fractured skull.

Unfortunately, assaults like this tend to be all too common nowadays - its just the reason that changes. In this case, road rage, in the next it'll be family feuds, or showing off to friends. The only thing that stays constant is the attitude of the self-gratification artist doing it.

Damn that could easily be one of a number of people I used to ride with! Best wishes to the cyclist whether or no.

I know that area of Fratton very well, I do some work round there. It is a stone's throw from some of the roughest estates in Portsmouth.

Many of the people who live there are repeat offenders, small-time criminals who drive without insurance, MOT, licence, etc. For them, getting into trouble with the law is an occupational hazard. The guy in the BMW probably has a criminal record as long as your arm and would think nothing of using casual violence against someone.

I do think you are tarring everybody with the same brush, I bet there are some very nice people who live there as well

Hopefully the cyclist will recover ok and the justice system will do whatever is necessary..
That aside 2 men in there 40s really should know better than to behave like this , rowing in the street so that one man gets a fractured skull.
Surely at least one person needs to have the sense to defuse the situation and walk away.

If your antagonist wants to behave violently then it is not always possible "to defuse the situation and walk away". please do not start blaming the victim for not being able to talk down a violent criminal.
