When can we expect Hilary Clinton to be arrested for frustrating an FBI investigation?

What does ACME stand for, the place where Wiley Coyote gets all his equipment from?
"The company name in the Road Runner cartoons is ironic, since the word acme is derived from Greek (ακμή; English transliteration: akmē) meaning the peak, zenith or prime, yet products from the fictional Acme Corporation are often generic, failure-prone, or explosive."

Is it possible to really experience anything objectively?
Revisiting this subject, sort of:

(Thank goodness there’s an army of video archivists beavering away. Further reading.)

Which state would you most like to retire to?
Bliss, preferably.

A FB glancing acquaintance (I’m trying a beta version with fine graduations of friendship) lives in Fairhope, Alabama, which looks heavenly. I might swing by there first to have a look, though can’t imagine being able to sweat out life in the South.

Ohio would be fine. Even though I technically can go home again, it isn’t going to happen.

There aren’t bungalows in America; or at least I didn’t hear the word for the first 18 years of my life…
They even have their own "magazine".

Evidently I’m not a student of architechture. Though I was aware of where the style originated, the early bungalowisation of America was news to me.

We’re in a bungalow now, and are indeed “living close to nature, but also with true style.”

Do people really keep to the 55 mph speed limit?
Honestly don’t know. Haven’t been there for a few years, and didn’t pay much attention to the data the dashboard had to offer when I was; wide roads and big skies make everything seem slow anyway. There aren’t many speed cameras, so you do have to watch out for the police if you’ve got a lead foot. Traditionally they like to hide behind billboards.

Who would win, Jack Reacher or Amos Decker? Obviously in a fight Jack Reacher would win, but say they both had equally difficult conspiracy cases, who would solve his first?

This is way outside my area of expertise. I’ll offer instead

Why is New York, New York called the Big Apple?
It’s a profanity filter for Big A**hole.

What's your opinion on the bimetallic money system?
Add titanium and now we’re talking.

Why did you adopt the NTSC drop frame television system? It used to cause the company I worked for endless problems.
It sounds like you’d be a lot more conversant on the subject. I’m still trying to figure out the movie mode on my camera.

Why do you call it The World Series ? Is it because you really do understand irony ?
The answer isn’t hard to find, for example, by clicking on this link. Don’t like that one? I have others.

Missing attachments w/context. Got caught out by the edit limit, which is seriously cramping my style. Note to self: learn to live within limits.

You've just gone and undone any faith we can have in your answers. THERE IS NO DECENT PEANUT BUTTER.

I have just now gone into my kitchen for an impromptu photo shoot of an example of DECENT PEANUT BUTTER.

Sugar container placement is ironic, or not. There’s not even sugar in it. That’s where we keep Chompsky chompables.

Yes, I was as surprised as you that something from Whole Earth could be tasty as well as feelgood. The mouthfeel might not be up to the standards of the American masses, but I have an unimpeachable subject: My wife.

Use of this image is awaiting ex post facto approval by its subject

She HATES peanut butter. But she loves this. Q.E.D.

Root beer.

Root beer resurrection, because I just ran across this picture while searching for something else.

Not edible by vegetarians (never mind vegans), thanks to “mad cow” gelatin in the frosting.

Where do the term yank come from?
From "yanking one's chain".

Why do you say 'don't got' instead of 'haven't got'
Or burglarized instead of burgled. Or drug rather than dragged.
Grammar evolves to suit its users, not the other way around. Thou doth protest too much.

What's the greatest great American novel?
I rather liked Stanley Elkin’s The Dick Gibson Show. Donna Tartt’s The Secret History was a deserved bestseller. True Grit, by "true American original" Charles Portis, is more than worthy source material for the films. There are a few thousand books in my loft, some of which I’m certain will prove to be gems when I get around to them. In short, I can’t answer your question: only you can, for yourself.

I would rather not

I'm really enjoying this thread. OP using witty repartee, videos and memes.
Well done, sir. Have a virtual biscuit* for keeping us all entertained during these most trying times
* Not the American version
American version being Dutch.

I usually require at least a week's notice to formulate winning repartee.* These deadlines are bracing. Thank you kindly for the biscuit. Sugary or savoury are equally edible.

Sorry bunny, it’s all for mememe

*And I’m lazy. Even that simple sentence was lifted from an old ride report.

Is Bigfoot real? Please tell me it is.
Yes, Drago, there is a bigfoot. He exists as certainly as love of tall tales and credulity and devotion to discovering a living missing link between man and great ape exists. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Sasquatch. It would be as dreary as if there were no Dragos.

Here he is heading for the fridge for leftover pizza and a cold one; an activity you surely both have in common.

If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?
Achieved self-actualisation on your own terms.

Grammar evolves to suit its users, not the other way around.
And Granpa?

I see what you did there.
He evolved gaseously, as granpas are prone to do.

Why is Kansas City not in Kansas?

It’s close enough.

Do people cycle from Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine?
Sure, but why leave Portlandia?

View: https://youtu.be/V3nMnr8ZirI

Why is Washington not in Washington?
The founders didn’t want the federal seat of government to be part of any state. Besides, Lewis and Clark hadn’t made it to the left coast yet.

(Manifest destiny was so catchy, even the indians were moved to sing along)

So, you're from Ohio. Do a lot of people get Ohio and Iowa mixed up?
Certainly nobody who has ridden a bicycle across either. Ohio offers a relatively benign landscape, as long as you avoid the potholes. Iowa, on the other hand…
