It is a bit sad that no one has missed the cyclist yet! It could be that the man is on holiday so work won't know, he could be unemployed any way, He could also live on his own, but still, someone must notice that he is not around.

Such sad news, RIP both riders & I hope they do discover the unknown's indentity soon

I have a specific wallet I use while cycling, it has my CTC, YHA membership cards in it, an ICE card & of course my Visa! So, if the worse was to happen I'm hoping this would be enough info.
When I rode the Capital to Coast in the summer, we all had stickers on our bikes with our name on it & an emergancy name/contact number. I never removed mine as figured it was a great idea, i've also printed off a couple of others & stuck them on my other bikes.

After reading several stories like this one, I decided to get a RoadID a few months ago in the ankle strap format. It's fairly unobtrusive so I wear it all the time, not just while riding. I know it's a bit macabre but I'd rather my family and friends were informed if something were to happen to me.

I have my name and address on a sticker stuck to the inside of my helmet... cheap thing to do if you choose to wear one...

I have a laminated business card (with NOK info on the back) in each of my under saddle bags as I do often go out without a wallet.

I carry my CTC membership card and my medical card (have a blood condition so best they know about it if anything happens), also have ICE numbers in my phone that's not PIN locked

RoadID - which I've just noticed I'm still wearing. Thanks to Mr P for highlighting it originally.

My mate was in the army and has his ID and blood group tattoo'ed on his arm, in case he was in need of emergency medical attention.

The OP is a very sad case, but it must be very rare for no one to notice a rider is missing. If I was run over my wife would be looking for me within a couple of hours and my work would be looking for me within a couple of days.

Maybe he's not a UK citizen
