If you could move anywhere in UK where would you move too?

There was someone on here that lived in large northern town and decided to move and renovate a house in small Scottish community somewhere. I even met him once as he used to come down here occasionally. Problems with the house and infestation of mice got him down and from his posts here his mental health was suffering.
Then he just disappeared.
Can anyone remember his handle?

Checked my PMs, it was Globati.

Somewhere where I can forget all of my crappy past, worries and my life generally, which is nowhere, because you can run, but you can't hide.

I could move to the Moon and still be plagued by my problems. 🙄

Yeap that's the worry isn't it!

Probably end up with a lawyer rather than a ....

Don't really care where I live as long as the house has bit more space (both in and out) and is quiet.
Village rather than town. I've lived in cities and don't want to do that again.

And must have walking and woodland nearby. And good cycling.
And the house has to be well-built, well-insulated, and a sensible layout.
Maybe a bit closer to the sea.

Harrogate has really gone downhill. My friend went last week with her daughter and said it was filthy, there was loads of rubbish piled up everywhere, it was also unkempt generally and she thought it was rough and tatty. Theres also a lot of deprivation in Harrogate which doesnt appear to get mentioned either for some reason?
Its not like it used to be. Theres better places like Ben Rhydding and Ilkley. York is also better than Harrogate, more to do etc.
Ben Rhydding has become an expensive dump over the last twenty or so years. Soon to be joined to Ilkley with the rate new houses are going up.

I like it here in West Yorkshire, and have Lancashire, North Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire not far away, and the Lake District only a bit further.

I have the advantage of having a sister in Devon with a spare room. A spare bike of mine is left down there so I am currently spending about 10% of my time in the SW and might increase that percentage.

So... I would probably stay put here for 9 months of the year.

What I would like to do though is to get away from UK winters so I would be tempted to clear off to somewhere like the Costa Blanca for the permitted 90 consecutive days, say Jan/Feb/Mar.

I would opt for south India or Sri Lanka. It's more interesting.

There must be somewhere that tickles ya fancy? Away from it all, some clear head space? Its a good country for that.
Antarctica, bah humbug!
Problem with the moon, is that there is just no atmosphere. You’d find that dull.
After Lockdown, I'm sure I'll be fine.
Yes, but there actually is an atmosphere on the moon. Much akin to Wigan on a monday night.

Somewhere in South East Asia, like Thailand might be nice, I wont deny.

I'm quite happy where I've lived all my life, postal address wise. I'm not really adventurous, so if I had an inclination to move, maybe Clitheroe would be nice.
