Quite a few people I have talked to have referred to 20mph as "evens". Any idea where that word comes from?
Also, is there a word to describe riding at 30Mph or even 40?
I still remember the first time I did a 10 mile time trial in under 30 mins (20mph), I was told I had broken evens. This year I managed 10 miles in 18:59 (faster than 30mph), I wonder what I broke then?
My target for next year is to ride 1 hour on a Velodrome at 40mph (current PB: 35.2mph), Would you call that double-evens?

30mph = Fast
40mph = Bloody fast.

BTW Lee, looking at that contraption on your avatar you don't happen to live in Pembrokeshire do you?

18:59? Unlikely unless your name is Nik Bowdler.

On second viewing, you must mean on a recumbent, because the current UCI proper bike hour record is about 49km/h.

Never heard of it, perhaps you should ask in Racing.

no, and neither have I slapped myself in the face with a wet haddock, watched any paint dry, or in the absence of being able to find a plastic bin bag, knitted one out of hair. Should I?
