No - for the reasons that Cunobelin gives above.

But I do have a medicalert bracelet, so unless my right arm is ripped off then my ICE contact / organ donor details will be available to the emergency services.

My Sony Ericsson uses the "Cancel" button to switch on!

Hardly intuitive

In Case of Emergency

you enter numbers on you mobilephone under this title so if you are involved in an accident then emergency services etc have a contact number. I do this and encourage others too, does anyone else?

No. It's a pointless exercise for me as my phone directory is reached via a PIN.

The problem with having the same number in ICE and as a normal contact is that on my phone it then only shows the number rather than the name when an incoming call/txt is received as it can't resolve which one to use. I have a number of ICEs with the contact to use as data in each one

AH! That's why!

I recently ordered one of these:

£13. Worth it IMO

Looks quite funky tho, I'm tempted especially now I'm starting to commute at night and I'm out on my bike on my own quite a lot anyway... What info have you got on it?

I'm going to get a road id sometime soon. For the meantime I have emergency contact details, med info in my diary and my wallet which is always in my rucksac. I have a luggage tag on my rucksac which gives name and phone number too and directs anyone to my diary and wallet.

Yes - and I note the reasons that... etc.

I don't see ICE as a replacement for carrying emergency details. In fact, I don't consider ICE as emergency details at all, just a contact name and number. But I have it on my mobile, stored as "wife" (and her name) so anyone dialing it knows who they are talking to.
