When I was in my teens (30 odd years ago....) my Uncle gave me a 531 tubed Viking frame dating from the fifties. I built it up over 6 months and rode it for a few years then sold it for about 30 quid!!!! ARGGGGGGGHHHHHH

I dont know the model, but from the original colour (underneath the primer) it was probably one these...

I could buy this frame.. get a mate who owns a spray shop to paint it in its original colour again then dress it with these

Then build it sympathically using retro parts.....

(its even the right size)

Reasons I won't....

1. Cant afford it

2. SWMBO would be pretty annoyed as I have just forked (see what I did there?) out on the DEFY2

3. I don't live in Yorkshire so would have to pay for a courier

Reasons I should

1. It would look uber cool......

I really shouldn't and probably won't but.......

I've just started another ebay account and emailed seller that I have got plenty of feedback on another account and will he accept a bid from the new account.....it can (sorry meant could) live at work whilst it gradually gets built up so would be probably a year before I would have to explain anything to Mrs V....

How much would your mate do a respray for ?
Looking at doing the boardman in the future as the white has been a chip magnet from day one and i cant see a new bike any time soon .

I've got a plan.....I used to look at MGBs (owned 2 in the past) and Boxsters on ebay and SWMBO used to see me and say "I don't know why you are looking....." So I will tell her I've bought a Sports car have the inevitable row then she will be relieved when I tell her its actually a bike frame

Yes?
