From what I've read they will be used for "last mile" journeys. Instead of a million vans going deliveries directly, there will be a thousand vans doing deliveries to local nodes and then these devices for the last bits.

I hope it works.

Their setup for the Armadillo was interchangeable, charged, batteries available from a central location.
Wonder if they kept that charging setup.
