Ha, ha. Eight months on and I'm afraid I still huff and puff up the hills I make myself do them reasonably often in the hope that I will get better but it is taking a while! It's not till you look back several months at the speed you used to climb some of them that you realise that you have actually made some progress even although you still find it hard work. In fact, the first hill I did I felt physically sick just before the top in the granny gear and now I regard it as one of the easier hills around here and don't mind it at all.i was walking the dogs downhill this morning, when a cyclist came uphill - looked like no effort at all, and fast, now me, i'd be " huffing and puffing"
If practice really made you a better climber, we would all be good at it by now. must be the exception to the rules as I still struggle and still avoid some of the hills around here.

Ooooft, I find them a bit easier but not to that extent........well doneOne of the first "hills" I did when I first started riding had me on the granny gear and huffing and puffing, thinking what have I got myself into. I did it last week in Top gear on my standard geared bike at 26 MPH.

s7ephanie it just don't matter how long or just how much you huff and puff your way or even get of and walk the bike up a hill just as long as you are enjoying yourself ( well overall at least ) plus as said before practice helps lol.i was walking the dogs downhill this morning, when a cyclist came uphill - looked like no effort at all, and fast, now me, i'd be " huffing and puffing"
