I'm ready to replace the tyres on my Dawes Mojave. its a hybrid 700 X 35C and currently has Vittoria Randonneur's
these:

i'm seeing cracks in the tyre walls so they've got to come off! i'd have hoped they'd have lasted more then 2000 miles but alas there they go.
anyhoo, what i'm after is a tyre with similar tread i.e. quite minimal but something perhaps a touch more hard wearing.
can anybody suggest anything decent? having never really tried anything else i'm totally out of the know as it were.
thanks
Pete

Depending on your budget, I'd maybe have a look at the Marathon Supremes in 35's, nice rolling tyre and been great for me so far after nearly 1000 miles

If they are too expensive then maybe the normal marathons or M+ though these are much heavier.

Cracks in the tyre side walls do not necessarily mean they need to be changed, although I have used as an excuse in the past.

This. I did 1300 miles on a pair of tires with cracks in the side walls before I replaced them for aesthetic purposes.

Being as you're a fellow thorns'n'all moss commuter, you'll be wanting the M+ or Conti Travel Contacts.

I use continental gatorskins excellent tires very hard wearing and good puncture resistance, I went from 700c x 32 to 700 x 28. To 700c x 23
