Anyway, nobody has answered my original question of why we have robots on here.......

There here, and have been here, keeping an "eye on things" as it were. Sending the information back to their respective companies. Allowing two things to be done:
A) Make the site searchable
B) Provide a ranking for the site

Quite what google makes of member profiles is anybodies guess. But they seem interested in them.

I don't know, but theres 28 of them currently on here. I wasn't actually aware they looked on profiles though, until you said.....

They're search bots, deployed by large corporations such as Google to track everything that everyone does at anytime on the internet, then log everything they find to large data servers, there to be stored for who-knows-how-long? The Daleks are wimps compared to this lot...

The increase in facebook Bots of late is odd though.
